UNAVAILABLE ABORTION RECORDS

The following coding describes unavailable records from the MSP data from Population Data BC. It also applies to MSP data used as a source for ACGs.

Records are unavailable if they contain:

• Any of these ICD-9 diagnosis codes:
  • 635 Legally induced abortions
  • 636 Illegally induced abortions 
  • 637 Unspecified abortion
  • 638 Failed attempt abortion
  • 17B Consultation re abortion
• Or any of these MSP Fee Payment schedule codes:
  • 4110 Therapeutic abortion (vaginal) < 14 weeks gestation 
  • 4111 Therapeutic abortion (vaginal) 14-18 weeks
  • 4112 Therapeutic abortion
  • 4113 Amniocentesis for termination of pregnancy
  • 4114 Therapeutic abortion by D&E, 18 weeks and over
  • 14545 Medical abortion
  • 4027 Therapeutic abortion by D&E or amniocentesis, 18 weeks and over
