Kelly has previous experience as a consultant and research analyst in both private and public sector urban planning. Kelly holds a BA in Geography from UBC where she specialized in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Urban Geography and Planning. Ofer Amram is Population Data BC’s Spatial Data Unit lead Coordinator and is based at Simon Fraser University (SFU). He is currently completing his Master of Science at the department of Geography at SFU focusing on population health and GIS. In the past several years he worked as a researcher and spatial analyst at several organizations including the city of port Moody and the BC Centre for Excellence for HIV and Aids. Tim Choi is a Researcher Liaison Coordinator at Population Data BC. His main role is to facilitate data access requests and to coordinate the process of data preparation and delivery. Prior to joining Population Data BC, Tim worked as a research coordinator at S.U.C.C.E.S.S., a local non-profit organization, where he oversaw research projects on various social and immigration issues in partnership with government agencies, academic researchers and private companies. Tim comes to Population Data BC with experience in project management and program administration. His other experiences include working as teaching/research assistant at the Department of Linguistics and the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University. Tim holds a BA in Economics and Geography and an MA in Linguistics from Simon Fraser University. Ann Greenwood is Population Data BC’s Education and Training Unit Coordinator and is based at the University of Victoria. She has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education and has spent her career in the field of education having worked as an Instructor, Coordinator and Manager of Adult and Continuing Education and Contract Services over the past 20 years at Vancouver Island University (formerly Malaspina University-College). Before moving to Population Data BC Ann was Programs Manager in the Office of Indigenous Affairs at the University of Victoria. She is currently working towards a Masters of Education. Caitlin Hertzman heads up privacy and business process management at Population BC. She works to ensure that Population Data BC is compliant with privacy legislation and in fact is a privacy forerunner in the research community. She is also responsible for keeping the application processes at Population Data BC efficient and user-friendly. Caitlin has worked with us for four years, previously leading data sourcing and communications. Her previous experience in the not-for-profit arts sector has primarily been in the areas of design, project management and communications. Caitlin has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and is a Certified Information and Privacy Professional with IAPP. Brent Hills is Lead, Systems Architect at Population Data BC. His responsibilities include leading the Data Services Unit of Population Data BC. For the last two and a half years, Brent has been a programmer with the UBC Centre for Health Services and Policy Research (CHSPR). Before joining CHSPR, Brent gained nine years of experience leading teams engaged in the development of debit/credit transaction systems and retail point-of-sale systems. Brent is a graduate of the Computer Systems Technology program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Muneerah Kassam is Population Data BC’s Project Manager for the Integrated Primary and Community Care Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning System (IPCC MELS). Prior to joining Population Data BC, Muneerah worked as an independent consultant, developing and leading numerous projects relating to health human resources, service delivery and organizational health. Muneerah holds a Bachelors of Applied Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University and a Masters in Health Administration from the University of British Columbia. Kerry Kerluke is a Senior Programmer/Analyst with Population Data BC and the UBC Centre for Health Services and Policy Research (CHSPR). He provides programming and data analysis support for research projects and is also involved in the ongoing development of data and other resources to encourage standardization and efficiency of research projects. His current research projects include defining and characterizing high users of health care services, and analytic support for the second edition of the BC Health Atlas. Kerry holds a BSc in Computer Sciences from the University of British Columbia. Anna Low is a Researcher Liaison Coordinator at Population Data BC. Her role in Researcher Liaison is to coordinate and facilitate the various stages of the data access process from initial application through to data preparation, and delivery. Anna's previous experience is in the archaeology, library, museum and archival fields. She holds a BA from Simon Fraser University, and a MLIS from the University of Western Ontario. Bryony Mander has many years of experience in public relations, marketing, web and graphic design in a wide variety of organisations in the public, private, media, higher and further education and non-profit sectors. Prior to joining Population Data BC Bryony worked as a freelance web and graphic designer. Suhail Marino has many years of experience in public health research, program development and coordination. Prior to joining Popdata she was the coordinator of Health Promotion Programs at UBC with Department of Health, Safety and Environment. Suhail has initiated, coordinated, and facilitated evaluation studies, epidemiological studies and public health forums. At UBC she has also worked for the School of Population and Public Health, Pacific Parkinson’s Research Centre, The Faculty of Medicine’s Evaluation Studies and for the CIHR/MSFHR Strategic Training Program to Bridge Public Health, Engineering and Policy Research “Bridge Program”. Nancy Meagher has been the Executive Director of Population Data BC for the past six years. With a Master’s in Economics, Nancy has worked internationally in health policy research, hospital management, and pharmaceutical market research, bridging research and its application in policy, business or industry. Her technical experience comes from work as a management consultant, where she led complex, privacy-sensitive development projects for companies including Goldman Sachs. Jim Mintha is the Systems and Security Lead at Population Data BC. He has worked for more than 20 years in the field of systems administration specialising in security. Prior to working at Population Data BC, he worked for seven years as the senior systems analyst for the central IT department at the University of Amsterdam in The Netherlands. Jim is also an active supporter of open source software and local pizza establishments. Chris Traweek is a Computer and Systems Support Technician with Population Data BC. He has worked in Information Technology for over fifteen years. Prior to joining Population Data BC he spent six years building custom software for the travel industry. He is an advocate for Free Software and Open Source and spends an inordinate amount of his free time obsessing over the Seattle Seahawks. Barbara Weinberg is a Programmer/Analyst with Population Data BC and provides programming and data analysis support. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Fan Xu provides programming and data analysis support to Population Data BC and the UBC Centre for Health Services and Policy Research (CHSPR)’s back injury study and other WorkSafeBC-CHSPR partnership projects. He holds a MA in Kinesiology from McGill University and a diploma in Computer Science from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Lixiang Yan is a Programmer/Aanalyst with Population Data BC and the UBC Centre for Health Services and Policy Research (CHSPR). He provides programming and analysis for CHSPR’s pharmaceutical research projects. He also supports the external research community through the construction of research data sets. Lixiang holds an MSc in Engineering from the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo, Japan. Harold Yip is a Senior Programmer/Analyst with Population Data BC and the UBC Centre for Health Services and Policy Research (CHSPR). He is a linkage expert and works on programming innovations that create efficiencies in research data set construction and analysis. Harold holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia. Amanda Yu is a Project Manager and Technical Writer at Population Data BC. Her duties include development of internal process documentation and oversight to ensure timely completion of projects. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Biology from UBC and has an extensive background in both Clinical and Behavioural research. She is also currently pursuing her MPH at the School of Population and Public Health at UBC. |
