Research objective:

To establish a birth cohort to examine the relationship between the incidence of childhood respiratory disorders (e.g. asthma, bronchiolitis) and exposure to air pollutants in the Georgia Basin Airshed.
To examine the relationship between adverse birth outcomes and exposure to air pollutants in the Greater Vancouver Regional District.
To what extent may neighborhood walkability impact previously observed associations between traffic-related air pollution and adverse birth outcomes (the original project aim)(approved 2013);
Does neighborhood walkability, as a determinant of physical activity have an independent association with incidence of adverse birth outcomes?(approved 2013)
