Changes in the incidence of invasive and non-invasive infections and serotypes associated with Streptococcus pneumoniae in British Columbia
Invasive and non-invasive pneumococcal disease incidence has decreased in British Columbia over time.
We will use administrative data from 1999 to 2015, to report on trends in IPD-associated and non-IPD associated health outcomes and costs.
Primary Objective: To determine the incidence of IPD and non-IPD in British Columbia from 2000 to 2014.
Secondary Objectives: In our study, we propose to evaluate a number of secondary outcomes including the incidence of infections pre-vaccine and post vaccine, changes in the type of Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes, antibiogram, and healthcare outcomes, healthcare utilization, treatment, costs associated with Streptococcus pneumoniae infections.
