Research objective:

Research Aim:
This study aims to determine the prescription patterns of common opioids for patients in BC.

This study will provide health care providers in BC with references in regard to the distribution of individual opioid prescriptions. This data will also inform public health initiatives with provincial prescribing trends.

Research Objectives:
(1) Determine the distribution of individual opioid prescription for opioids commonly prescribed in BC for all age groups.
(2) Estimate the proportion of opioid prescriptions that exceed recommended guidelines.
(3) Determine the trend in opioid prescribing habits by performing the 5 year analysis.
(4) Compare the distribution of opioids prescribed by pain specialists to the rest of the provider population
