Research objective: 

1) Objectives
A. Develop a generalizable algorithm for classification of carotid endarterectomy by indication (symptomatic vs. asymptomatic) using administrative data
B. Develop a generalizable algorithm for estimating ime from symptom onset to carotid endarterectomy using administrative data

2) Hypotheses:
A. Symptomatic status will be determinable from administrative data for at least 80% of carotid endarterectomy procedures, with accuracy of at least 90%.
B. Time from symptom onset to carotid endarterectomy will be determinable for at least 80% of symptomatic cases, 80% of which will be accurate within 2 days.
