In this talk we will present the PICNIC study. The aim of PICNIC is to quantify the contribution of in-utero, infant and childhood exposure to ambient air pollution and adverse housing conditions that are associated with the risk of RTI admissions in children less than 5 years old.
The Cumming School of Medicine (CSM) at the University of Calgary quickly responded to the COVID-19 pandemic, by prioritizing and accelerating research to develop countermeasures needed to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. CSM turned to the experts at the Centre for Health Informatics (CHI) to spearhead the development of a surveillance tool.
Interrupted Time Series (ITS) is a powerful quasi-experimental time series tool for evaluating temporal effects of interventions on an outcome of interest.
