PopData projects
For PopData projects Research Extracts will be housed on the PopData Secure Research Environment (SRE) unless otherwise authorised (see below).

After a Data Access Request (DAR) has been approved and contracts and agreements have been signed, Popdata’s Data Services Unit (DSU) will begin to prepare and provision the linked data in accordance with the approved DAR.

Data Access Unit staff at Population Data BC (PopData) must be informed when a research project is complete, and access to the data is no longer required.

Once a DAR has been approved the Researcher signs a number of legally binding contracts and agreements.

Each body with data available through Population Data BC (PopData) and the Health Data Platform BC (HDPBC), retains the right to approve all uses of their data. Each body appoints a designated Data Steward, who is responsible for reviewing and approving every Data Access Request (DAR).
Data Access Requests are assessed on their individual merits.
292 long-term care facilities in BC, both Health Authority and contractor operated.
